This is shocking and very emotional news to take in but you are not given time to take it in. Once she chose to not treat we were almost immediately given the boot from the hospital and told to find a place for her to go to die. Ybor City was within walking distance of my home and so it was tops on my list for her to go there, site unseen, I put her in there. I am not going to lie, when I walked in with my sisters we did NOT fall in love with the place, it’s not where you want to put your parent to die.
I am local, and researched many assisted living facilities in Sun City Center and found Sun Towers to be the best fit for my Dad. We moved him here July 2017 from Connecticut to be closer to me. The staff members at Homewood are excellent and very friendly, they would be a five plus. We also think the value is good, and the care services are excellent. We think the rooms would be a five out of five. Tessera Brandon was just awarded Tampa Bay Times Best of the Best Assisted Living Community for a five county area for the third year running so know you are choosing the best place to reside!

The Community looks just like the pictures on line.... They do alot of activites, to keep everyone involved. The staff is great-, and they always keep me well informed. My loved one seems to like the food, and they serve beautiful meals.

A good friend of ours said "if your mom is comfortable and safe, she will not see what you see". We kept mom there and comfortable and safe is just the beginning of what we got from this home. EVERY SINGLE person that worked in this home loved on my mom and my sister and me.
Slowly, especially after the virus announcement, things began to happen, not only with Mom, but at the nursing home, their surroundings. The level of care went down rather fast, as did my mom. There were requests made by me that were not followed and when her breathing got bad, they did nothing to take care of it. I requested for her to be moved to a hospital for assistance, I asked for her to be placed on a wheelchair for a walk around the nursing home, this didn’t happen either and other requests.
He has been there for 3 days without any communication available!! It is he legal right to have an interpreter and this place is acting like it’s the first they’ve heard of it. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED in Consulate thus far. Located 14 miles southeast of Tampa, it’s estimated that over 7,300 seniors reside in Riverview, making up around 10.3% of the city’s population.
The communication with the staff has been good overall. Located in the heart of Sun City Center, Florida and convenient to Tampa, St. Petersburg and the beautiful beaches. I thought the prices were reasonable for what they did. The community was very receptive and helped my loved one and me.
